Commonwealth Legal Services Expenditure

Commonwealth agencies are required to report to the Office of Legal Services Coordination about their legal services expenditure within 60 days after the end of the financial year.

The Office of Legal Services Coordination has compiled this information into a report on Commonwealth legal services expenditure for 2010-2011.

The report compares Commonwealth legal services expenditure from 2008-2009 to 2010-2011. The report also details information on the pro bono legal practices of firms providing legal services to the Commonwealth and information on the selection and numbers of briefs to Counsel.

This is the second annual report on legal services expenditure published by the Office of Legal Services Coordination. The previous report is also available below.

The purpose of the Report is to:

  • provide an overview of legal services expenditure across the Commonwealth from 2008-2009 to 2010-2011, and
  • identify and report on trends, patterns and changes in Commonwealth legal services expenditure.
